Best Female Vocal Performance at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, UK-based singer NIIELLA, will be a special guest performer at this year’s StepFWD Awards, joining Jonathan Ogden, Becca Folkes, Lou Fellingham and Emmanuel Smith. So, if you only attend one music event this year make sure it’s the unmissable black tie, red carpet event which is the StepFWD Awards – the UK’s definitive Christian and Gospel music awards. This unique gathering of the ’Best of British’ creative musical talent is taking place on Saturday 11th November, at South London’s largest arts centre, Fairfield Halls, Croydon.
Niiella is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and vocal coach who embarked on her music career in Ghana back in 2012. Her debut single, titled ‘I Believe,’ marked the beginning of her artistic journey. Since then, Niiella has collaborated with numerous artists from around the world, including The Spirituals Choir, K Collective, Joe Mettle, and many others. In addition to her musical pursuits, Niiella is also the driving force behind VOBOX, a vocal initiative that empowers singers to discover their voices and prioritize vocal health for long-term success. In 2020, Niiella had the honour of representing the United Kingdom in season 10 of BET’s Sunday Best, a renowned singing competition hosted by Kirk Franklin. Competing against top-notch talent and under the discerning eyes of esteemed judges Erica Campbell, Jonathan McReynolds, and Kelly Price, Niiella managed to secure a spot among the top 10 finalists. Her remarkable vocal prowess earned her the prestigious title of Best Female Vocalist Of The Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. This achievement was made possible through her mesmerising performance of the hit single ‘Where You Are’ a collaboration with the Sanctuary Music worship collective based in the UK. Garnering over 350,000 views across various social media platforms, this song captured the hearts of many listeners. Continuing her streak of success, Niiella later clinched the same award in May 2023 for her feature on Kyei Mensah’s single ‘Nothing’s Too Hard’. This back-to-back win further solidified her position as a phenomenal vocalist and an emerging force in the gospel music industry. Niiella recently collaborated with Integrated Music Rights, a subsidiary of the renowned Integrity Music family, to release her highly anticipated EP titled “LIVING OUT LOVE”.
At StepFWD Awards, expect to see new and current artists celebrated, alongside those who have contributed for decades oftentimes never receiving the recognition deserved. Their combined efforts have created the diverse and lively faith-inspired music scene we have in the UK today – Song of The Year nominees alone span twelve categories across numerous genres! StepFWD Awards is inspired by Romans 12:10: “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.” The main focus is just that – loving and showing honour to those blessing us with their musical giftings.
