Martin Smith releases new single ‘Our Eyes Are On You’ ft. daughter Elle Limebear

Brand new release ‘Our Eyes Are On You’ is the fourth single from Martin Smith’s forthcoming album “Dancing In The Fire” which also includes the December UK Christian Charts top Pop track Fire In Your Eyes‘. This new single features Elle Limebear, Martin’s daughter and a well-established artist and worship leader in her own right. Our Eyes Are On You was co-written with Jason Ingram over Zoom during lockdown and continues with the theme of looking to God during Covid times.

Martin explains more fully the inspiration behind the song and tells us:

There’s a book in the Bible called 2 Chronicles and in chapter 20 it talks about the story of King Jehoshaphat. The Bible has a thousand stories of God rescuing people against all odds, usually at the eleventh hour when it seemed impossible. Here again is the nation of Israel, God’s chosen people crying out for him to save them.

“Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your Name, saying, ‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’

For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

When we lose our own power to fight our own battles we either lose heart or we turn our eyes to heaven in faith that God will rescue us.  Keep looking up everyone.
