It was two years ago in Birmingham that we supported GMIA CEO and Greentree Executive Director Juliet Fletcher in her vision to create an awards event, that would encourage Christian and Gospel artists to push the creative boundaries with their visual messages and stories and gain wider music industry recognition.
After a one year break the JUMP Music Video Awards returned, bigger and better, this time to London city. With some of the top names in the international and national music scene listed as nominees, it was indeed set to be a fantastic affair. Very well organised with lots of courteous and helpful staff, this Hilton Hotel housed awards was also live streamed by MyChurchEvents to hundreds who couldn’t get to the sold out event.
The winners announcements were well received with Bobby Bovell, a pastor and creative acknowledged with a triple win in the Best UK Caribbean Sound (sponsored by aStepFWD), Best Inspirational and overall Best Music Video categories. 2016 MOBO Awards nominee and darling of the Gospel scene Sarah Teibo walked away with a double win.
There were some great performances from newcomer Theon, Cerose, Keylock Whitlock all the way from Trinidad & Tobago, Aaron T Aaron, Simon Lee and Lurine Cato to name a few. The International winners were announced the fantastic ‘Juicy Ladies’ duo, Lavinia and Adaeze of Vinejuice with the overall hosting by Lady T of Premier Gospel and Bernard Achampong of Ideas Genius.
The red carpet styled celebration was a fantastic celebration especially for the artists whom it was acknowledged work so hard to create outstanding visuals to compliment already great music. Juliet also launched a Development Fund on the night to aid with training and development for videographers and other visual creators.
A massive congratulations to the organisers, all other members of the judging panel, which included a strong mix of independent filmmakers, television producers, music and media experts, all the nominated artists and also the winners.
