Vocal Masterclass follows on from January’s hugely successful Songwriting Masterclass which saw world-renowned songwriters join with over 160 attendees for an inspiring day filled with tips, techniques and practical information. This day was a special, rare, and unique time together, and we can’t wait to get to do it again, this time with our focus on all things vocals, on Saturday 27th February.
Come and learn from some of the UK’s top vocalists: announcing Lurine Cato who will be joining Priscilla Jones, Mark De-Lisser, Rob Cates, Collena Masuku and Lurine Cato who are already announced for aStepFWD’s Vocal Masterclass.
Having graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2005, Philly trained as an actress at the Advanced Performers Studio before progressing into an established career in music. Philly has performed live alongside award-winning artists at iconic venues such as Wembley Arena, Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage and The Royal Albert Hall. Her work as a vocal coach on primetime television programmes, as well as featuring on numerous highly acclaimed records has lead Philly to be in high demand in both live and studio settings. With a diverse client base of individuals, groups and choirs, Philly’s multi-facetted approach to teaching means students benefit hugely from her unique pedagogy and direct experience of performing at the highest level. Philly’s passion is to help singers find a free, authentic and expressive vocal that allows them excel in whatever performance they are undertaking now or in the future.
Philly has worked with both BBC and ITV on TV show THE VOICE UK as one of their vocal consultants and vocal coaches from casting to coaching contestants through blind auditions for the last 4 years. She’s also worked on BBC’s ALL TOGETHER NOW as part of the vocal coaching team.
The Vocal Masterclass sessions will take place online and will be delivered in a variety of formats, all designed to help you grow in your vocal capability, strength, and style. The experienced vocalists and practitioners will be sharing their wealth of knowledge and insight into expanding your range, conditioning your voice, finding and developing your style and so much more! We will learn from their years of experience in vocal coaching, singing, and developing and working with a huge range of talent, all with diverse and unique voices and vocal styles. This is an essential and valuable day for anyone interested in developing their vocals, for the seasoned and beginning singer alike!

Having been established nearly 7 years ago, aStepFWD operates the only national independent UK Christian & Gospel music chart which features a wide variety of different genres. The monthly UK Christian Chart system has supported over 700 artists and processed 3000+ songs to date, and Play it FWD continues in that tradition of support: serving vocalists and rising talent from all across the UK.
