Having a compilation of conceptual releases under his name, Marcus Young is an artist with a genuine focus on worship. His soulful, laid-back, and alternative hip-hop style is both captivating and reflective. The singer, songwriter and producer released his project ‘The Good News’ in 2013, co-written and produced by Mpumi Nyembe, featuring 17 tracks that introduced Marcus Young to a wider audience around the world.
His debut album, 2017’s Pilgrim, succeeded in raising awareness and support for persecuted Christians globally; with profits being donated to The Voice of the Martyrs and OpenDoors charities. The conceptual album, inspired by The Pilgrims Progress, featured artists Duane Caleb, King Jims, Chris Da Ambassada and Elspeth Young. Album highlight ‘At the Cross’ featuring his wife, reached the Top 3 of aStepFWD UK Christian Chart. The album release was additionally special to Marcus as it was released 2 weeks before the birth of his first daughter.
2018 saw Marcus release a few creative singles including ‘Closer’. The track was played on BBC Introducing radio.
Brand new release ‘Wonderful’ came at a time of wanting to write songs that simply focus on the goodness of God and how great He is. The song was also inspired by Psalm 145:3-5
