And just like that, we’ve made it to the final six!
What a week it has been! From the first batch to the second and third, we’ve seen some amazing songs make the shortlist for the 2026 StepFWD Awards Song of the Year. Now, it’s time to reveal the final six and complete the list of 24 nominees!
Missed any of the previous announcements? Don’t worry! You can catch up on the first six nominees, the second batch and the third batch of nominees
Over 1,500 songs were considered for this year’s Song of the Year category, with just 24 making the shortlist. And remember, this year is different! For the first time in StepFWD Awards history, there will be just ONE overall Song of the Year winner, rather than 12 winners across different genres as we’ve had in previous years.
Different genres, different sounds and different expressions of faith, all represented in one category, united for one purpose: FOR HIS GLORY!
Now, enough of the suspense! We’ve kept you waiting long enough.
Can we have one final drum roll, please?

Four batches, 24 songs and a whole lot of great music!
From worship to gospel rap, Afro-gospel, R&B and contemporary Christian music, this year’s shortlist gives us a good picture of the different sounds coming from the UK Christian and Gospel music scene.
And that’s one thing we’ve always loved about Song of the Year at StepFWD. It’s not just about the songs everyone already knows. It’s also about giving people the opportunity to discover music they might otherwise have missed.
Perhaps you’ve followed every announcement and already know most of the songs. Or maybe you’ve spotted a few unfamiliar names along the way. Either way, there’s plenty to listen to!
Have You Listened to All 24 Songs?
We’ve made it easy for you! We’ve put together playlists on both YouTube and Spotify, bringing all 24 nominated songs together in one place.
So whether you’re discovering some of these artists for the first time or revisiting songs you’ve had on repeat, you can enjoy the full shortlist without having to search for each song individually.
And who knows? You might just discover your next favourite song!
With all 24 nominees now revealed, one thing is certain: Christian and Gospel music in the UK continues to offer so much across different genres, and it’s been a pleasure bringing these songs to your attention throughout the week.
