The GX Awards, now in its 8th year, has become one of the UK’s consistent platforms celebrating excellence and contribution in gospel music and ministry. Founded by Annette B, the event has over the years, spotlighted both emerging and established voices, creating a heritage that continues to inspire the gospel community.
This year’s edition was truly a night to remember. Hosted by Ibe Giantkiller and Annette B, the ceremony brought together gospel artists, ministers, and the community for an evening filled with music, testimonies, and celebration.
It was great to see new winners honoured on this night. One of the highlights was Min. Adeoluwa (Adeoluwa Boluwajaiye) [pictured above – right] clinching the Best Praise and Worship Leader award, a category won by Noel Robinson last year. This marked a powerful moment of recognition for his scripture-rooted worship sound. Reblah [pictured above – middle] also picked up the Best Song award after delivering not one but two powerful performances that had the crowd on their feet.
International talent was equally celebrated, with Covenant Voices from South Africa receiving the award for Best International Artist. What made this moment even more special, as noted by Shoggz Shoggz — who himself later won the award for Radio Presenter at the same night — is that Covenant Voices is a group of children trained and mentored by Pastor Tim Omotosho. Their recognition showed the beauty of raising and empowering the next generation through gospel music.
Other awards on the night included Lytie as Best Reggae Artist and Priscilla Bailey as Best RnB Artist. Both of them also performed during the event — Lytie [pictured above – left] bringing a vibrant reggae sound that kept the energy alive, and Priscilla Bailey ministering beautifully with her soulful RnB delivery. Noel Robinson’s album “Change the Atmosphere” also won an award, further cementing his lasting influence in gospel music.
But the night was more than just about awards. Performances from artists like Imhran, the electrifying ministration from Highgate Gospel Choir, and even a comedy-like sermon kept the atmosphere joyful while reminding everyone that the highest honour is not man’s recognition but hearing God say, “Well done.”
One of the most moving parts of the evening came when Reblah shared his testimony. He spoke openly about his past and encouraged everyone with this simple but powerful truth: “Give your life to Christ, and He will lift you up.” His words, combined with his performances, left a lasting impact on the audience.
The GX Awards 8th Edition was more than a ceremony; it was a night of worship, joy, and inspiration, showing how gospel music continues to grow and touch lives across the UK and beyond.
