Vocal Masterclass follows on from January’s hugely successful Songwriting Masterclass which saw world-renowned songwriters join with over 160 attendees for an inspiring day filled with tips, techniques and practical information. This day was a special, rare, and unique time together, and we can’t wait to get to do it again, this time with our focus on all things vocals, on Saturday 27th February.

Michael has an infectious and warm personality, which alongside his in-depth knowledge of voice and performance, creates the perfect artistic storm to whet the curiosity of musicians and laypersons alike. Michael has a remarkable ability to deconstruct, analyse and simplify complex pedagogical practices which integrate singing, expressive physical gesture, aural development, vocal production and creativity, into simply cause-and-effect models.
Michael has studied a variety of vocal techniques including; Seth Riggs “Speech Level Singing”, “Swedish Italian School of Singing” and David Leys “Vibrant voice technique”, which explores the scientific practice of external vibration to relieve excessive muscular and neurological tension. As a qualified mental health practitioner and trainee integrative counsellor, Michael uses a combination of music and therapeutic pedagogical practices to address a wide range of social, emotional, mental health needs such as transactional analysis, attachment theory and cognitive behavioural techniques.
Michael currently teaches a wide range of aspiring singers and artists from his vocal studio in Hertfordshire. Michael is a vocal lecturer at the renowned British and Irish Institute of Modern Music (BIMM), currently the largest music school in Europe.
