We cannot believe how the week has flown by since our Vocal Masterclass on Saturday. So much took place in one day: from sessions exploring vocal exercises, to developing vocal styles, to exploring how our identity and mindsets can affect our voice, and even to our own set of live auditions! We are so proud of all the attendees who stepped out in bravery to showcase their voice for not only the panel but also for the rest of the attendees and the aStepFWD team. It was such an honour and privilege to listen to so many beautiful and talented voices. It’s hard to fully describe the day, and its impact, with something short and sweet due to the incredible depth of teaching and the array of talent delivering each session.
We not only learnt many practical techniques, and heard such a scope of tips, for our own voices, but we also had such a fun day from start to finish with some of the UK’s top vocalists and coaches: Rob Cates, Collena Masuku, Christopher David Mitchell, Lurine Cato, Olivia Williams, Michael Ojo, Matthew Colthart, Priscilla Jones, Philly Lopez and Mark De-Lisser. We are incredibly thankful for each and every one of this team that gave of themselves so fully and so vulnerably in every session. We are grateful for the time they gave us, and we can truly say that we really did learn from the breadth of talent in each and every session.
But it doesn’t stop there! We’ve already got our next Masterclass locked in for the end of March, and you’re not going to want to miss this. So far, both the Songwriting and Vocal Masterclasses have delivered so much more than we could have possibly imagined. The teaching has been impeccable, the experience like no other, and the insight on point! And so we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that our next Masterclass, set for Saturday 27th March, is going to deliver just the same. It will be full of so much insight to pack out what is set to be an inspiring day, this time as we venture into the world of choirs. So make sure to get yourselves there!
