Marizu Ikechi, known professionally as Marizu, is a Nigerian UK-based Afro-gospel singer, songwriter and recording artist known for blending smooth melodies with Christ-centred messages of faith, identity and grace.

He has now released his new EP “The Good Shepherd”, a 6-track project that carries a message of trust, comfort and God’s constant leading.

Across the EP, Marizu points listeners back to the heart of God as the One who leads, stays close and walks with His people through every season.

Looking at the line-up, every song on the EP seems to flow back into the title “The Good Shepherd”. A good shepherd is not distant. He is present. He is with me, He is a friend, and His lead is what I follow. At the end of it all, what comes from walking with Him is joy. Even the place of the Holy Spirit fits into that picture, because the presence of God is part of how He leads, comforts and stays close to His own.

That is what makes the EP feel like one complete message and not just a collection of songs. From the first track to the last, “The Good Shepherd” carries the picture of a God who guides, keeps, comforts and brings His people into joy.

Marizu continues to build around sounds that are warm, smooth and easy to connect with, while still carrying a strong faith-centred message. Although the project is not long, its 15 minutes still create room for reflection, worship and a reminder of the peace that comes from following God’s lead.

With “The Good Shepherd”, Marizu offers listeners a simple but meaningful body of work that speaks to the nearness of God and the assurance that we are not walking alone.
