And the beauty of the chart is that it is not only creating space for label-backed artists. It is also opening the door for independent, signed and unsigned UK Christian artists to be discovered. From Afrobeat to pop, rock, worship, gospel and rap, the chart continues to reflect what listeners are engaging with across the board.
Now into this week’s chart, and ‘Give Me Joy’ by Elle Limebear continues its journey at the top, holding on to No.1 for a second week. After making a big debut last week, the song remains in the leading position, giving Elle Limebear another strong week at the top.
With this, ‘Give Me Joy’ now joins the list of songs that have stayed at No.1 for more than one consecutive week. ‘Kumbaya’ by JERUB still holds the longest consecutive No.1 run, spending seven straight weeks at the top, and also remains the song with the most weeks at No.1 overall, with 10 weeks in total. Following closely is ‘THIS GOD’ by MIN.ADEOLUWA, which held the No.1 spot for three consecutive weeks.
So the question now is, are we about to see another ‘THIS GOD’ moment, or could ‘Give Me Joy’ begin a run similar to ‘Kumbaya’?
‘More Than Enough’ by Westwashere also holds steady at No.2 for another week. The song entered straight into the second position last week and continues to keep its place, making the Top 2 unchanged this week.
One of the key movements this week comes from ‘Altar Call’ by MIN ADEOLUWA, which climbs from No.4 to No.3 in its second week on the chart. It is a strong move for the song, taking it further into the Top 3.
‘Guide Me II’ by Culture Cnnct and SoundsDubetter moves down one place to No.4 this week. The song has had a strong chart journey, previously reaching No.1, and now sits in its 13th week on the chart.
Another big move inside the Top 5 comes from ‘Adoration’ by New Wine Worship and Joe Hardy, climbing from No.11 to No.5. That is one of the standout jumps this week, taking the song into a much stronger position.
This week also welcomes a new entry straight into the Top 10, as ‘Nyame Banbofo (God The Protector)’ by Diana Hamilton enters at No.6. ‘SOG (Song of Gratitude)’ by Ms Debola and MIN.ADEOLUWA moves to No.7, while ‘My Heart Your Home’ by Chantelle Rutendo sits at No.8.
Newday also makes an entry into the Top 10 with ‘Make Way’, which comes in at No.9, while ‘How Could It Be’ by Gas Street Music and MUDERE climbs from No.12 to No.10.
This week brings four new entries into the Top 20. ‘Nyame Banbofo (God The Protector)’ by Diana Hamilton enters at No.6, ‘Make Way’ by Newday comes in at No.9, ‘The Great I Am’ by Tom Endersby enters at No.12, while ‘Heart Full’ by Newday enters at No.19.
There is also one re-entry this week, as ‘Everything And More’ by CalledOut Music returns to the chart at No.15.
A few artists also appear more than once this week. MIN ADEOLUWA appears at No.3 with ‘Altar Call’ and also at No.7 on ‘SOG (Song of Gratitude)’ with Ms Debola. Newday appears twice with ‘Make Way’ at No.9 and ‘Heart Full’ at No.19. CalledOut Music also appears twice, with ‘Everything And More’ re-entering at No.15 and ‘My Love’ at No.18. Reggie Dartey and Obed also have two songs on the chart, with ‘Green Light’ at No.13 and ‘Up There’ at No.20.
