Limoblaze Young & Chosen shuts down London and still ‘talk of the town’

The buildup was intense for Limoblaze’s annual headline concert in London with a queue around one, nah two blocks undoubtedly encouraged by the number of high-profile guest artists from US and Nigeria on the lineup. Yet, it was worth the wait, as the show exceeded all expectations – not only did it shut down London it went global! An ambitious show in size and scope, but one Limoblaze fully delivered, with his vision, talent and hard work ethic boosted with a healthy dose of Holy Ghost assistance to carry it through. Not to mention the brilliant collaborations and guest appearances from the shining stars of the urban gospel community, all coming together for one night to bless London.

Limoblaze clearly understands what it means to be a Kingdom builder generously sharing his stage with contemporaries to delight the audience. Familiar faces included the inimitable CalledOut Music, our very own Afrobeat queen Naffymar and Christian pop royalty Elle Limebear whose hit collaboration with Limoblaze ‘Over’ thankfully wasn’t the last song of the night. The talent continued to bless the stage all night with stellar performances from Laura Ehio, 678Nath, Prinx Emmanuel and Marizu. It was also wonderful to see Favour Emma, aka Mrs. Limoblaze, deliver a beautiful spoken word piece reminding us of just how gifted this young couple are united in their love for Jesus.

With some of the US artists eagerly anticipated such as Sam Rivera, Caleb Gordon and Anike, the gift that is Young & Chosen just kept giving. It took a lot of self-control from excited members of the AStepFWD team involved in the event, myself included, to keep the surprise guests secret once mysterious plane arrivals and hotel bookings that needed attending revealed their identity. It began to be clear this show was going to be the talk of the town for at least a month, if not a whole year, with Whatuprg and Joe L Barnes appearing with suitcases in tow in a certain hotel lobby. A definite highlight was meeting KB and his wife who had flown in for a quick London break while he supported Limoblaze on stage in an explosive grand finale of the Young & Chosen show. Seeing him perform was certainly a tick off the old bucket list.

Can’t wait to see what Limoblaze plans for 2025? Us neither, but one thing is for sure – make sure you grab those tickets the moment they are released because if this show was a foreshadow of where he is headed, it’s one heaven of a ride you don’t wanna miss!
