This past Monday, we at aStepFWD hosted our very first Songwriting Masterclass with Platinum-selling U.S. Songwriter Lauren Evans at Premises Studios in London. Some 25+ aspiring and established creatives attended the sold out event, including MOBO Award Nominees Olaedo Ibe and Sarah Teibo (who recently picked up ‘Best Video’ at the 2018 Premier Gospel Awards).

During the session, Evans shared her experience as a 20-year veteran in the Music Industry – writing for a plethora of A-List acts all the way from American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks to top-selling Christian Music collective Bethel Music. She also curated a segment where attendees were paired into small breakout groups and were given the task of writing a hook within 15mins and then perform it to the rest of the group, encouraging them to put the ‘gems’ she dropped to the test.

The event, which sold out in just over a week, went extremely well and was the first of our Creative Masterclass Series which we plan to hold frequently throughout the year. Below are a few testimonials from the session.
