The very first official single from 18-year-old singer-songwriter Tim Newman is now out and what a fantastic start! Titled ‘Burn Out’ the track marks a progression from Tim’s many and well received Youtube videos of live busking and popular song covers. With his love for traveling, exploring and discovering new places the young creative has had lots to draw inspiration from. Tim started playing piano around age 11 and picked up more skills in his local church, Kingdom Faith in Horsham, where he still ministers as part of the worship team. Last year he led a number of songs as part of two EP releases from the church’s youth music ministry The Move Band which his brother Fraser heads up. With his Kickstarter success surpassing even his own expectations – more than four times the target – Tim seems to be blessed in abundance, thanks to his outgoing yet warm personality and heart of service. As a full-time musician and artist he has spent the past 2 years cultivating a network (14,200+ YouTube subscribers & 13,000+ combined social media) and honing his skills. Tim is now fully immersed in everything music and while currently soaking up songs from the talented Jake Isaac, counts James Bay, U2, Michael Jackson and Jon Bellion in the list of those who inspire him. I caught up with Tim today right after his busking session in Crawley to hear more about his new release. He told me, “‘Burn Up’ was written about a time in my life when I was floating in the unknown, craving something more. God answered and re-sparked the coals in me. ‘Burn Up’ is about a hunger for something bigger than yourself.” Most readers would already know of our excitement for the next generation of young creatives.
