Inside This Week’s Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart

Another week, another Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart, and this week we have another change at No.1, one new entry, three re-entries and some interesting movement across the Top 20. ‘Give Me Joy’ by Elle Limebear returns to the top once again, Sondae makes an impressive debut inside the Top 3, while Chantelle Rutendo returns to the chart with two songs.

Just when we thought ‘Something More’ by Cammy Barnes and Rend Collective was settling into its No.1 position, Elle Limebear had other plans. After spending two weeks at No.2, ‘Give Me Joy’ climbs back to No.1, ending the two-week reign of Cammy Barnes and Rend Collective.

And what a chart journey it has been for Elle Limebear. The song entered straight at No.1, held that position for six consecutive weeks, dropped to No.2, returned to No.1, and has now done it again. With eight weeks at No.1 overall, ‘Give Me Joy’ continues to build one of the most remarkable runs we have seen since the chart launched.

The song is also approaching another significant moment. Now in its 12th week on the chart, it has just one week remaining under the chart’s 13-week rule. Will Elle make that final week count with another No.1, or will another song take over? That is certainly something to watch.

‘Something More’ by Cammy Barnes and Rend Collective moves down to No.2 this week after spending two consecutive weeks at the top. Despite the change, the song continues to enjoy a strong run in its sixth week on the chart.

For Rend Collective, their consistency remains worth celebrating. They have been one of the most regular names on the chart since its launch, and this week is no different. Alongside ‘Something More’ at No.2, they also have ‘Runaway Heart’ at No.8.

Now, drum roll please, because this week’s highest new entry deserves some attention!

‘Lord I Wanna Know Ya’ by Sondae makes its debut straight at No.3, the only new entry on this week’s chart. What a way to begin a chart journey! Landing inside the Top 3 is a strong start, and it will be interesting to see how the song progresses over the coming weeks.

‘More Than Enough’ by Westwashere moves down one place to No.4 in its 12th week on the chart. Like ‘Give Me Joy’, the song is approaching the end of its permitted 13-week run, having maintained a strong presence since entering the chart.

‘Heaven’ by Unglued, TJB and Esther Durin follows at No.5, moving down from No.4, while ‘Make A Way’ by Tim Hughes makes a notable climb from No.10 to No.6.

Another song moving in the right direction is ‘Jesus Soldier’ by Y Shadey, climbing from No.9 to No.7 in its second week and reaching a new peak.

‘Runaway Heart’ by Rend Collective moves down one place to No.8, while ‘Kunta In UK’ by DC3 returns to the Top 10, climbing from No.11 to No.9.

Closing this week’s Top 10 is ‘Greatness’ by Martin Smith, moving from No.5 to No.10 in its second week on the chart.

There are three re-entries this week, and one interesting thing to note is the return of Chantelle Rutendo, who features on two of them.

‘Hide Us Here’ by Florence Kisiwaa featuring Chantelle Rutendo returns at No.15, while ‘Don’t Pass Me By’ by KXC and Rich & Lydia Dicas makes its way back at No.16. The third re-entry is ‘We Desire’ by Chosen Sounds featuring Chantelle Rutendo, returning at No.20.

That means Chantelle Rutendo makes a double return to the Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart this week. Having already enjoyed several notable moments on the chart, including reaching No.1, it is good to see her back with two collaborations in the same week.

Outside the Top 10, ‘What A God’ by Joel Barber and Chroma Worship sits at No.11, followed by ‘Alpha And Omega (Revelation 1:8)’ by MIN.ADEOLUWA and Brenique Adams at No.12.

‘Ayaya’ by Limoblaze and Teninlanimi is at No.13, while ‘Ekballo’ by KAC Music is at No.14.

‘We Praise You/Worthy Of It All’ by Jake & Mates sits at No.17, followed by ‘God For God’ by Y Shadey at No.18 and ‘This Kind Love’ by Limoblaze, Marizu and Oba Reengy at No.19.

A few artists appear more than once this week. Rend Collective appear at No.2 alongside Cammy Barnes with ‘Something More’ and No.8 with ‘Runaway Heart’. Y Shadey has ‘Jesus Soldier’ at No.7 and ‘God For God’ at No.18, while Limoblaze appears at No.13 with ‘Ayaya’ and No.19 with ‘This Kind Love’.

Chantelle Rutendo also joins the list of artists with two songs on the chart this week, returning at No.15 with ‘Hide Us Here’ and No.20 with ‘We Desire’.

Looking at the chart this week, there may be fewer new entries than we have seen recently, but there is still plenty to talk about. Elle Limebear returns to No.1, Sondae makes a strong debut at No.3, and Chantelle Rutendo returns with two songs among the three re-entries.

The coming week should be particularly interesting, with some of the chart’s longest-running songs approaching the end of their 13-week journey.

Will ‘Give Me Joy’ hold on to No.1 in its final eligible week, will ‘Something More’ return to the top, or could Sondae surprise everyone with ‘Lord I Wanna Know Ya’?

One thing is certain, the journey continues to unfold week after week.
