See Who Is Back at No.1 on the Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart

JERUB returns to No.1, and this is getting even more interesting. The first artist to top the chart, after spending three weeks in a row at No.1, stepped away from the top for three weeks and now finds his way back again. So much is happening on the chart this week, and it is only making things more exciting. Let’s dive in.

In simple terms, JERUB returning to No.1 shows that listeners are still streaming the song, buying it and keeping it in strong demand. It is a clear sign that the support behind the song is real. And thanks to AStepFWD and Official Charts, UK Christian and Gospel artists now have a proper space where that kind of impact can be seen clearly through streams and sales.

The Top 10 also comes with a bit of a shake-up this week. HALLELUJAH (WORTHY IS THE LAMB) by Chosen Sounds and Florence Kusiwaa enters at No.3, while THIS GOD by Min. Adeoluwa makes a return to the chart and lands at No.5. WE DESIRE by Chosen Sounds and Chantelle Rutendo also sits at No.6, with REST MY HEAD by GUVNA B returning to the Top 10 as well. It has been a busy week in the upper end of the chart, with plenty of movement reshaping the Top 10.

There are also two new entries shaping the chart this week, and both have gone straight into the Top 10. HALLELUJAH (WORTHY IS THE LAMB) by Chosen Sounds and Florence Kusiwaa enters at No.3, while WE DESIRE by Chosen Sounds and Chantelle Rutendo comes in at No.6. Both songs landing directly in the Top 10 is one of the biggest talking points on the chart this week.

There are also re-entries making their way back onto the list this week. THIS GOD by Min. Adeoluwa returns to the chart and lands at No.5, while TIL THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS by Philippa Hanna and Israel Houghton also re-enters at No.20, adding to the wider movement across this week’s Top 20.

Points to note this week can hardly be ignored. Philippa Hanna now joins the list of artists with two entries on the chart, with CITIZEN and TIL THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS both appearing this week. Chosen Sounds also joins that list, with both HALLELUJAH (WORTHY IS THE LAMB) and WE DESIRE making their presence felt on the chart. What is still yet to be seen is an artist holding three songs in a single week on the chart. With the way things are building, that could be another interesting milestone to watch.

Looking across the Top 10 and the chart as a whole, there is still a clear blend of sounds, from contemporary worship and congregational music to Afro-influenced and modern gospel expressions. That diversity continues to shape the direction of the chart and reflects what listeners across the UK are engaging with.

Looking at how the chart continues to evolve is something interesting to note and anticipate. JERUB is back at No.1, showing that the support behind KUMBAYA is still very real. The question now is whether he can hold on to the top spot again, or if the fresh movement across the chart will bring yet another change next week. It promises to be an interesting week ahead.
