Christian singer-songwriter Scott Riggan releases his deeply personal new single, ‘Broken Pieces‘ available everywhere today. The song continues the rollout of his forthcoming full-length album, “Shepherds and Wolves” arriving this fall through NRT Music.
Co-written with Scott’s longtime music business mentor and friend, Grammy- and Dove Award-winning songwriter Randy Thomas (“Butterfly Kisses,” Sweet Comfort Band, The Allies), along with Benjamin Bauman, ‘Broken Pieces‘ explores one of faith’s most difficult questions: Can God truly restore what has been shattered by disappointment, fear, and life’s unexpected wounds?
Built around honest lyrics and a soaring chorus, the song reflects the tension between believing God can save us for eternity while struggling to trust Him with today’s burdens.
“I have no problem believing that God is capable of saving my soul,” Riggan shares. “But I have sometimes questioned if He can be trusted to supply my needs and help me through when things get tough.”
That vulnerable confession finds its answer in one of the song’s most poignant moments:
“Help me to know / If I trust You with my soul / I can trust You with my heart…”
Rather than offering easy answers, ‘Broken Pieces‘ acknowledges the reality of pain while pointing listeners toward the hope found in God’s restoring work. It is a reminder that the Good Shepherd still gathers what has been broken, smooths the jagged edges, and brings healing where it once seemed impossible.
