Afrogospel artist Limoblaze teams up with American Christian singer-songwriter Seph Schlueter, widely known for his popular song ‘Counting My Blessings’, for ‘What I Believe’, a song about putting your confidence in God and having faith in His power.

The song opens with Limoblaze singing, ‘When trouble comes my way, you hear me praising still, I put my confidence in God, I know it’s real.’ Right from the opening, you already know where the song is going. Trouble may come, but the response is still praise because the confidence is in God.

That same confidence comes through again with the line, ‘Why should I fear the grave? I know the One who saves.’ It takes the message beyond the troubles of today and points to the assurance that comes from knowing who you believe in.

One thing I love about Limoblaze is how he always finds a way to weave his mother tongue into his lyrics and it still stands out. It never feels forced. It simply feels like part of who he is and part of the sound he has continued to carry with him.

Then Seph comes in with that signature voice you can recognise almost immediately. His tone brings a different feel to the song but sits naturally alongside Limoblaze, as both artists carry the same message of faith and confidence in God.

And perhaps Limoblaze himself gave one of the best descriptions of what the song is for. Sharing the release on Instagram, he recommended: ‘Play it on repeat when your faith needs reminding.’ That sums up ‘What I Believe’ quite well. It is a song to return to when you need that reminder of who God is, what He can do and why your confidence can remain in Him even when trouble comes.

At the heart of ‘What I Believe’ is faith over fear. It is choosing praise when trouble comes, trusting in God’s saving power and holding firmly to what you believe.
