Natalie Okri has just released her first gospel song ‘Blessings‘. Natalie’s story is that of a child prodigy as finalist in Britain’s Got Talent 2009, where she came third after Susan Boyle and winners Diversity. Her BGT audition remains the 7th most streamed of all time with over 150 million views. She was then signed by Simon Cowell aged 10 and has been a force to be reckoned with in the music business ever since, establishing herself as a singer-songwriter.
Her delightful new song ‘Blessings‘ is her first ever Christian music release with an uplifting Afrobeats sound, reflecting her gratefulness for God blessing her in every season, even unexpectedly. Despite understandable nervousness of how the change into releasing Christian music will be received, she has now courageously followed through.
“Whatever I have been through, God always gives me more, going above and beyond. I am so grateful for the moment I fixed my eyes on the Lord he opened doors and blessed me even more,” Natalie shares about this new release. “The Bible says we are royal priesthood, so I’m royalty, I’m a Queen, I represent the kingdom of God. I have God living in me so therefore I don’t suffer, or lack.”
“The Bible says do everything for the glory of God. For example when we eat, we drink, do it for the glory of God. So even if it’s not a religious act, do it for the glory of God. Music is a doorway through the eyes and ears so if I am going to be influencing people let it be in the direction of God. I don’t want to be misleading people but lead them on the right path. I’m going to continue to release Christian music. I’m so excited to have an EP release planned towards the end of the year. Before then I have two more singles coming so keep your eyes peeled!”
