On Easter Monday night, the Royal Albert Hall hosted “Praisetival: Barrach“: an evening where gospel music transcends boundaries. A night to remember with for its intercontinental line-up of performers, the event will go down in our history as a pivotal event which opened a door to the possibilities for what can be done in future UK gospel music events.
As Psalm 150 says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord“! That’s most certainly what we did at the iconic London music venue.
The Lightchild Family, a collective of singers, songwriters and artists gave us a beautiful time in God’s presence alongside very special guests from across the globe.
Moments of praise and worship converged with cultural and unique stylistic expressions to make a glorious night. CalledOut Music (UK), Chevelle Franklyn (Jamaica), Joe Mettle (Ghana) and Ntokonzo Mbambo (South Africa) blessed the stage on a night with no shortage of musical brilliance.
Premier Gospel’s Muyiwa Olarewaju OBE hosted this momentous evening as the atmosphere was shifted on classical music’s grandest stage. His ability to carry the audience in further worship during intervals further elevated the powerful moments of worship the big names had brought to the stage. Leading this heartfelt worship to the Lord came just days after the passing of his brother Bolaji Olarewaju (widely know as Big Bolaji) on Friday, and our prayers are with Muyiwa and his family at this time.
The night was only possible thanks to the hard work of Ayobami Soetan and the Lightchild Family for the creation, organisation and flawless execution of this powerful event.
The night was thoroughly enjoyed by those who came: for the standard of excellence as well as the heart behind the performances. We look forward to future editions of the Praisetival as its vision expands into the future.
