Nominations deadline extended for GX Awards 2025 as excitement builds

The GX Awards is back on Saturday 6th September 2025 at Birmingham Town Hall, continuing its mission to recognise and honour individuals making a real difference across the UK’s Christian and Gospel community. Now in its eighth year, the event has become a valued space to celebrate creativity, leadership and service, drawing artists, ministers, entrepreneurs and supporters from across the country. This year’s colour theme of emerald green and gold perfectly symbolises the growth and excellence that GX Awards looks set to celebrate this Gospel Heritage Month (September).

With the event just a few months away, the nominations deadline has now been extended to Sunday, 23rd June. This extension gives even more time for churches, organisations and individuals to put forward those they believe deserve recognition this year. Nominations and early bird tickets are available now at www.thegxawards.com.

Founded by gospel artist and broadcaster Annette B, the GX Awards started in 2015 and has since grown from a grassroots gathering into a national platform. Past events have been held in London, Solihull, Wolverhampton and Birmingham, with attendees consistently describing it as uplifting, warm and community-driven. GX Awards 2025 promises another memorable night filled with great music and the warm vibes the Midlands is well known for.

“The heart of GX has always been to shine a light on those making an impact in their communities,” says Annette. “With so much happening across churches, media and business, we want to make sure people are seen and celebrated.”

In addition to its core music and media categories, this year sees the introduction of Best Christian Business and Best Church Leader, reflecting the growing influence of faith-led entrepreneurship and local leadership. These categories give space to highlight those working faithfully behind the scenes as well as on platforms.

Winners from previous years have described the event as more than an awards show. When Soulfood Gospel Radio won Best Radio Station, they called it a “reflection of love, dedication and belief in the power of gospel music.” Many others have spoken about the sense of encouragement and unity they felt throughout the evening.

If you know someone making a difference in music, ministry, business or beyond, now’s the time to nominate and be part of something special.
