The Grand Canyon University Worship Arts program has released its ninth album, Canyon Worship 2025. The album features 10 original tracks written and performed by GCU students and recorded in the university’s state-of-the-art recording studio.
In recent years, contemporary Christian music has been seeing a surge in mainstream visibility. As this NPR story exemplifies, the genre achieved its largest streaming numbers on Spotify last year, with global streams rising by 60% over the past five years. This momentum shows that mainstream audiences are increasingly open to worship-centered music, making student-driven projects like Canyon Worship 2025 well-positioned to reach a wide range of listeners.
“Every year gets better as these gifted individuals put their talent to work while glorifying God and pursuing the creative pathways that God has prepared for them,” said Eric Johnson, GCU Recording Studio Manager. “The real success of the project is when these students connect with ministry opportunities to use their creative talents to serve in their local churches, and in the Lord’s work around the country.”
More than a collection of songs, Canyon Worship has become a training ground for the next generation of worship leaders. Since last September, one single off the album has been released each month. The final single was released in July, making the full album now available.
The 10 songs and authors on Canyon Worship 2025 are:
Take Care of Us (Chloe Roussin)
Dwelling Place (Maclaren Keffer)
Treasure (Kyleigh Almich, Shailen Stewart)
All of You (Blake Breitler)
