Light of the World, the feature-length animated retelling of the life of Jesus, arrives in the UK on 26 October, following a successful US theatrical release across more than 2,000 cinemas.
Created as a family film for a new generation, Light of the World tells the story of Jesus through the eyes of the young Apostle John, taking audiences from the beginning of Jesus’ ministry through to the Crucifixion and Resurrection.
With adventure, humour, heart and a timeless message of hope, the film offers families an accessible and engaging way to experience one of the world’s most enduring stories.

Light of the World opened across more than 2,000 US cinemas, establishing a strong audience ahead of its UK release. The film also received an “A” CinemaScore, with audiences aged 18 and under giving it an especially strong A+ rating, demonstrating its appeal to younger viewers and families.

The film brings the story of Jesus to life through traditional 2D hand-drawn animation, giving it a distinctive and timeless visual style.
It is co-directed by veteran Disney animator Tom Bancroft, whose animation credits include The Lion King and Mulan.
