From Ulungile to Idinma, Sinach Releases a Vibrant Celebration of God’s Goodness

The winner of the 4th edition StepFWD Album of the Year and Contemporary Gospel Song of the Year Sinach returns with a refreshing sound that carries both depth and joy. She remains one of the heavyweights in gospel music both in Nigeria across Africa and around the world. Known for her ability to release music that draws the church into worship and then leads us into celebration she comes again with another beautiful expression of the goodness of God.

Some months ago Sinach released a slow paced worship sound in the South African language Zulu titled Ulungile which means You are good. Now she returns with a proper Nigerian expression by introducing ‘Idinma‘ which means you are good in Igbo. But unlike the former this new one carries a joyful danceable energy. It is the same revelation of the goodness of God expressed in a sound that invites celebration.

After you bring down the throne of God with worship what remains is the response of joy. You dance before your King while declaring His goodness His kindness and His faithfulness. This is exactly what Sinach delivers with Idinma. It carries the same revelation but invites the listener to rejoice and celebrate.

Such a simple song yet filled with so many moments of instrumental display that give the sound a full flowing movement. The leading of the trumpet gives the song a bright and energetic lift before the konga rhythms enter. It is a beautiful interaction of percussion and brass. The trumpet in particular announces the praise with authority while the konga brings that familiar Nigerian dance colour. Together with the other instruments they create a full and vibrant musical atmosphere. Every break becomes an invitation to move. Every rise in the instrumentation calls the listener to rejoice.

The lyrical simplicity also carries weight.
You are good you are kind you are faithful we bless your name.
Ahhh ehehe Idinma. Idinma means You are good.
Very simple but powerful.

A sound of worship a sound of joy and a sound that reminds you that the goodness of God can be sung quietly or danced loudly. Sinach has given us both and she has given it with grace.
