Frank Edwards Releases New EP “Heart of Worship”

Frank Edwards is back with a new EP, “Heart of Worship”, a project that carries the sound and message many have come to know him for over the years. Known as one of Africa’s leading gospel voices, Frank has built a strong catalogue of worship songs that have travelled far beyond Nigeria, serving both personal devotion and church worship.

The new EP comes with 7 songs and runs for 26 minutes. It also brings in a number of featured voices, including LMGC, Micah Stampley, Prinx Emmanuel and Mayo.

Songs on the EP include ‘Obuka (Mighty)’, ‘Biggest Name (Man of Galilee)’, ‘Song from My Heart’, ‘Perfect Sacrifice’, ‘Obuka’, ‘Listen’ and the title track ‘Heart of Worship’.

The EP opens with ‘Obuka (Mighty)’, a song that starts by acknowledging God as the source. From the opening line, there is a clear sense of surrender, which points straight back to the heart of the EP. Frank sets the tone early, making it clear that this is not just about singing, but about where the heart is before God.

Across the EP, he moves through different sounds while keeping the same worship focus. There is Afrobeat, contemporary worship and a strong classical expression, especially on ‘Perfect Sacrifice’. That track feels almost like a mass, with a sacred and reflective weight that gives it its own place on the EP.

Ahead of the release, Frank shared a post on Instagram asking what a heart of worship means to people. In the same post, he pointed back to the real meaning of worship, saying it is not about lights, applause or performance, but a heart laid bare before God.

That thought sits at the centre of the whole EP. ‘Heart of Worship’ is about surrender, purity and returning to the altar. It reminds listeners that worship is not only found in the song itself, but in the condition of the heart behind it.

“Heart of Worship” is now available on streaming platforms.
