She won Female Artist of the Year for two consecutive years and now for the very first time Asha Elia will be a special guest performer at this year’s StepFWD Awards, joining Niiella, Jonathan Ogden, Becca Folkes, Lou Fellingham and Emmanuel Smith. The unmissable black tie, red carpet styled StepFWD Awards is the UK’s definitive Christian and Gospel music awards, now in its third year. This unique gathering of the ’Best of British’ creative musical talent is taking place on Saturday 11th November, at South London’s largest arts centre, Fairfield Halls, Croydon.
Asha Elia has gone from strength to strength over the past twelve months, with her soft dreamy vocals featuring on ‘Secret Place’ her recent collaboration with Jonathan Ogden, performed at Big Church Festival. With her distinctive blend of RnB sounds, catchy beats and faith-based lyrics, Asha was nominated for a MOBO Awards – Best Gospel in 2022 while winning StepFWD Awards Female Artist of the Year twice in a row. She has had multiple number one tracks in the monthly UK Christian Charts and was recently joined Annatoria and Still Shadey on a historic 4-city UK tour hosted by Punch Records. Now London-based but originally hailing from Bristol, Asha has been writing music since 2017. Currently signed to Platoon but self-managed, Asha has pending nuptials planned for early November. She has just released a single ‘Heavenly War’ together with her fiancé namesbliss. It is clear that this inspiring couple will be fighting their battles united in prayer and undoubtedly going far in their respective music careers. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for Asha who is currently working on her debut album.
At StepFWD Awards, expect to see new and current artists celebrated, alongside those who have contributed for decades oftentimes never receiving the recognition deserved.
