If you only attend one music event this year make sure it’s the unmissable black tie, red carpet event which is the StepFWD Awards 2023. This unique gathering of the ’Best of British’ creative musical talent is taking place on Saturday 11th November, at South London’s largest arts centre, Fairfield Halls, Croydon and is the UK’s own ‘Dove meets Stellar’ event.
Returning for the third annual StepFWD Awards are also our delightful hosts, the endlessly entertaining Faith Child with the beautiful Jennifer Lee Moon. We’re also very excited to announce the first special guest performer at this year’s awards – EMMANUEL SMITH.
Taking people on an inspiring journey with musical gift sets apart singer-songwriter Emmanuel Smith, who believes there is no no better time to promote the message of hope and love than now. One of his greatest opportunities to proclaim his faith came when he featured as a live semi-finalist on THE VOICE UK where he was mentored by Will.i.am. The resulting exposure saw him perform a rendition of gospel song ‘Made A Way’ by Travis Greene to a nationwide TV audience followed by his own sold out show at Indigo O2. As a recording artist Emmanuel’s latest EP “Welcome Home” was released in June 2023. Appearing regularly at the largest worship events UK and abroad, we are delighted that Emmanuel will also be blessing us with a performance at this year’s StepFWD Awards.
StepFWD Awards is inspired by Romans 12:10: “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.” The main focus is just that – showing honour to those blessing us with their musical giftings – without leaving anyone out. Expect to see new and current artists celebrated alongside those who have contributed for decades oftentimes never receiving the recognition deserved. Their combined efforts have created the diverse and lively faith-inspired music scene we have in the UK today – Song of The Year nominees alone span twelve categories across numerous genres!
