Two minds are better than one. I’ve heard this all my life, but always felt it lacked a bit of context. The saying should have really been – Two minds are better than one, if on one accord. It’s all good saying ‘Let’s get together and do this’ but do we all truly want the same thing?
There are those people who are only out to achieve for themselves, to be the best at what they can be and once they reach the top spot or the pinnacle of their craft, there isn’t room to ‘Bring Anyone In’. Supposedly.
Some would call it selfish, some would call it looking out for number 1, and although this happens with people we have all come across in our lives, my true concern is when this happens in the body of Christ.
1st Corinthians 12 v 12 & 20 – [12] For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. [20] But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.
These 2 scriptures emphasize that there are many parts that make up the whole body of Christ, where the body of Christ represents the Church. Verses 25 & 26 emphasise the importance of each individual part to the body of Christ. 1st Corinthians 12 v 25-26 – [25] so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. [26] If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.
Now listen, I am not a Bible Scholar or anything like that, but what I take from this is that we all need to be on one accord in trying to build the Kingdom of God. But we have to understand the importance of each other, knowing that we all have a part to play in doing that.
Now, imagine having a U.K. Gospel & Christian scene where everyone involved, from the Radio Stations, Promoters, Artists, Worship Leaders, Musicians, DJs, Pastors, Ministers, all pulled together in the same direction for the one true purpose.
I mean truly pulling in one direction. All of us having the revelation that because we all play a part, there is enough room for everyone to win and achieve greatness.
However, it requires a united approach. An approach where we are trying to boost each other up and not tear each other down. An approach which means more collaboration, less separation. An approach which means every part of the body of Christ is needed to achieve the united goal.
So as we are in a season of rebuilding our U.K. Gospel Community, everything must be of God and united in our line of action.
United we stand so the Community doesn’t fall.
