Brand new single ‘The Fire Ain’t Mine’ from pioneering couple Out Of The Ashes

Out of the Ashes are a pioneering couple from Gloucestershire with a strong passion to bring something fresh and zesty, with flawless production, and thought provoking challenging song writing thanks to lead vocalist Penny Lyon. The sentiment comes alive courtesy of a full band led by Penny’s husband Kevin Washburn on guitar, and star contributions in the past have included the likes of Paul Jones (Manfred Mann/ BBC Radio 2) on harmonica, Josh Cana (Human League) on bass, and production by Andy Baker (Philippa Hanna.) The new single has a smokey sliver of Gospel Jazz…‘The Fire Ain’t Mine’ is Out of the Ashes at their most intense. Though it harks back to Jazz’s golden age, ‘The Fire Ain’t Mine’ also wouldn’t sound out-of-place on one of Jools Holland’s “…and friends” albums, with Eric Clapton on guitar duties. There’s also a theatrical touch to the delivery, with Penny Lyon and David Ansah sharing vocal duties to great effect. There’s a serious message too – about the power of God, and how his followers can’t claim credit for his works and signs – “It might be burning in my hands… It’s all a sign of His devotion.” ‘The Fire Ain’t Mine’ is off their new studio album “Get Out The Boat” which is out now on outoftheashesmusic.uk For more information on Out Of The Ashes visit the Website | Facebook | Twitter
