Big Church Festival has been a great blessing to the UK, providing a beautiful place for Christians to come together in fellowship and worship God.
Sadly, on Friday 28 August, a 41-year-old man from Eastbourne lost his life and at least six other people were injured and taken to hospital after a large sign fell at Big Church Festival in West Sussex. Our hearts and prayers are with his family and loved ones, those who were injured, and everyone affected by this tragic incident.Following the incident, organisers made the difficult decision to bring Big Church Festival 2026 to a close.
In their statement, Big Church Festival organisers said they were “devastated by the serious incident”, adding:
“First and foremost, all of our thoughts are with those who have been affected, their families and friends, and everyone who witnessed what happened.”
At this incredibly difficult time, we stand together as the Body of Christ in prayer.
We pray especially for the family who lost their loved one. May God surround them with His comfort, love and supernatural strength during this incredibly difficult time. We pray for healing and full recovery for those injured, and for God’s strength and peace over every artist, attendee, volunteer, organiser and person affected by this tragedy.

We believe this is not the end of Big Church Festival. May this be a time of reflection, healing, restoration and further growth.
As we look towards the future of Big Church Festival, we pray and trust God for restoration. We believe there are still greater days ahead and that it will return stronger, safer, bigger and better — continuing to be a beautiful gathering where Jesus is lifted high.
