Atlanta-bred, Scotland-based John Robertson releases new single ‘Glasgow’

John Robertson is a songwriter, singer and musician who loves to make tunes that people can’t get out of their heads. Originally from the Atlanta area, he has lived in Scotland for over 15 years.

His diverse musical influences give him a style that’s hard to pin down, but instantly catchy…heavily influenced by 60s rock and pop with a healthy diet of indie and alternative acts from the 1980s-2010s.

John told us, “‘Glasgow’ originally came out of a time of my life when I was both burned out and also recovering from a bout with cancer. We lived about an hour away from Glasgow, which became a place to go to for a bit of respite. That’s how the song started. As I delved more into writing it, it became more introspective into my own need to accept help from God and others. It’s a song about trying to escape a place but realising that there was a lot inside me that will follow me wherever I go.”
