Charity Gayle has released a new single, ‘In The Presence of The King’, ahead of her forthcoming album, “His Name Shall Be”.
The worship leader and songwriter, known for songs including ‘I Speak Jesus’, ‘Thank You Jesus for the Blood’ and ‘I Believe’, shared that this particular song came from something she noticed while touring last year.
They were already singing a lot of the new songs on tour, but for Charity, something was still missing. She wanted a song that would set the expectation in the room and remind everyone why they were there in the first place.
Sharing on Instagram, she said, “I just felt like there was a song missing, a song that set expectation of what we were doing in the room, which is ultimately to understand we’re in the presence of the King.”
She added, “We are not just there singing songs. We are there because we are in the presence of the King.”
That is where the new song comes from. Before the singing, the music or anything else happening in the room, Charity wanted people to be conscious that they had gathered in the presence of God.
‘In The Presence of The King’ will be part of Charity Gayle’s forthcoming 13-track album, ‘His Name Shall Be’, which arrives in October.
The new single is out now on all major streaming platforms.
