Trailblazing and Spearheading: “A double sided coin” Part two

We started this conversation last week, exploring what it means to be a trailblazer and how the journey comes with both weight and reward.

Trailblazing is not always easy. It takes strong roots, the right people around you and a life of prayer to keep going when the path becomes tough.

This week, we complete the topic with Part Two.

Let’s dive in.

HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN

Do you plug in to the Holy Spirit every day? God’s presence within us? His provision for comfort and power?

He is our map, navigation system, radar, antennae and internal checker. God sent the Holy Spirit to be our guide and a continual source.

There is not a single decision that a trailblazer should step into without first checking that the internal light is green. Thumbs up. Go ahead.

That peace needs to be present in order to forge forward, and if it is not, don’t do it.

Some people refer to these inner warnings as a gut reaction, but if we are in Christ, then that gut sensation is the Holy Spirit within us giving us the heads up.

Trailblazers, be in tune with the Holy Spirit within, for He is God’s divine provision for our daily walk and is a lamp unto our feet.

FULL ARMOUR OF GOD

So check yourself in the mirror before you go into battle.

If you are contending every day, then you should not leave the house without the full Armour of God.

This may seem like imaginary play or dress up, but in Ephesians 6, this is another divine provision for protection, resilience, faith and wisdom.

You may ask yourself how to apply this verse in a practical and actual sense, but application is simple. This is a prayer posture. It is a spiritual checklist. A spoken mantra even, if you like, but something to follow methodically to dress yourself properly.

If you have a frontline, trailblazing ministry or calling, be sure that at some point, the enemy is coming for you.

Don’t be vulnerable, foolish or unprepared. Put on the Full Armour of God at the start of each day.

If you mean business, this is the least you can do for yourself.

Mirror before manoeuvre.

SETTING THE STANDARD

When we trailblaze, we forge a path, we show the way, we become an example.

This is not only a privileged call, but it is also a position of great responsibility.

If you want to succeed and don’t want accounts of your spearheading to come back and bite you, you need to be integrous from the get go.

Good character and good reputation will be your banner and your legacy, if you act with integrity, honesty and love.

Don’t let the pursuit of success become greater than God’s call on your character, for He would not prefer one at the expense of the other.

You can be bold, fierce and courageous whilst still being kind, loving and humble.

Let your words and actions be accountable, and let the standard that you set be an example of God’s love.
