Phil Wickham and Pat Barrett are both well known worship leaders and songwriters, and their songs have been sung in churches around the world.
They have now come together on a new song titled ‘Praise The Lord Forever’, a worship song that carries thanksgiving, praise and also reminds us of the love of God that endures forever.
The song opens by calling the believer to bless the name of the Lord with everything within. From there, it continues with that sound of gratitude, pointing back to the mercy of God, His goodness and the joy that comes with coming into His presence with thanksgiving.
And like many other CCM worship songs, this also brings the audience into the sound. It is not just Phil and Pat singing alone. The whole room is carried along. The line “come on church lift your voice and sing” gives it that congregational feel, making it easy for people to respond and sing along.
One part that really stands out is how the song makes room for people in different seasons. It speaks to the one full of faith, but also to the brokenhearted, the one walking through the valley and even the person finding it hard to sing.
That part gives the song a more personal touch because worship is easy when everything is going well, but there are moments when lifting your voice takes strength. The song does not ignore that reality.
‘Praise The Lord Forever’ is a song of thanksgiving and encouragement. It reminds the church to keep lifting its voice, to bless the name of the Lord and to praise Him forever.
