At the time of writing, Adrian was immersed in a separate creative journey: his Every Sunday Songs project, whose first release was the joyful and declarative ‘Made Me Glad’. However, the passing of his Grandmother brought that momentum to a sudden halt. The loss triggered a period of intense introspection, where joy gave way to sorrow, certainty to questioning and worship to wordless lament.
‘Safe With You’ emerged from that space. The song does not shy away from the weight of grief. Adrian explains: “Losing my grandma broke something in me. I was angry, heartbroken and exhausted. This song came from a place where I had nothing left to say to people, but I still needed to speak to God. It isn’t polished praise. It’s grief. It’s frustration. It’s me choosing to believe that even in all of that, I was still safe with Him.”
