“If you are a gospel artist, minister or worship leader and you want to establish a career with Christian music, you need to come to this.” – Uzo Anyia (Zoe Records) said of the upcoming Music & Media Conference on the 9th July at the prestigious University of Westminster in the heart of London.
Zoe Records is an independent record label based in London and been one of the organisations at the forefront of gospel music in the UK since 1999, with offices in the US and Nigeria.
The name ‘Zoe’ derives from the biblical interpretation which means ‘the Life of God’ hence the reason that the label only produces and retails Gospel Music.
Isaac Odeniran founded the label in 1999 and since its inception, more than twenty acts have signed with Zoe including Coko from the platinum selling group SWV and the legendary Pastor Shirley Caesar.
As a result of the insurgence in Urban Music, Zoe Records released a compilation of Rap and R&B music that possessed a Gospel context. The British are Coming was intended to introduce the US market to UK talent. Successful campaigns led to the album picking up a Dove Award in 2010. This created history as Zoe Records became the first British label to win such an accolade.
Zoe Records joins over 7 other top UK record companies who will be represented at the Music & Media Conference on Saturday, 9th of July 2016 at the University of Westminster in London.
