There has been so much buzz online about William McDowell’s forthcoming album, Dreams, Revelations & Moments. The project marks his return with a new body of work after a seven-year break and is scheduled for release on 31st July 2026.
Ahead of the album, McDowell has released ‘I Want Jesus’, one of the songs from the 18-track project.
The song opens with a gentle instrumental interlude that carries the feel of a hymn before he comes in singing, “Oh, oh, I want Jesus, I want Him. Oh, oh, oh, only Jesus. Take this world and give me Him.”
It is a song of surrender and devotion, centred on choosing Jesus above everything the world can offer.
As the song builds, McDowell gives a charge before moving into the declaration, “I made my choice, I made my decision, I take the King over everything.”
Sharing the song on Instagram ahead of its release, McDowell wrote:
“This is our cry: ‘I Want Jesus.’
There is a generation that is after Him, hungry for Him, that wants Jesus and Jesus only. We are not after anything else because nothing else can satisfy.”
The post gives a clear picture of the heart behind the song and the hunger carried throughout it.
McDowell has also shared that the songs on the project were received through dreams, revelations and moments, which gives meaning to the album’s title.
‘I Want Jesus’ offers the first glimpse into what listeners can expect from Dreams, Revelations & Moments.
