If you are “black”, according to the modern ideology of the world, the title image is your legacy. Ever notice how mankind gets progressively lighter as he “evolves”?
See, the Word of God teaches us that all life is precious. All life is precious because mankind is made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26). The Bible teaches us that black lives matter because people with dark skin are equally human and thus equally precious as any other skin colour (Genesis 10).
But this is actually contrary to the ideology of the world.
The ideology of the world is built upon the premise that all life has evolved from simpler to more complex life forms. All human beings are said to have descended from a common ancestor to apes. African people were deemed to be less human than Caucasian people because they were closer to this common ape-like ancestor and thus were less evolved than the rest of humanity. Even the “Out of Africa” hypothesis, so dearly beloved by those who claim to be “woke” is based upon this same racist foundation. If all people came from Africa, it’s because we’re all descended from apes; black people more closely than other “races”.
What we are seeing in the world today is a direct consequence of the rejection of biblical truth. It is a fact of history that more than half of the transatlantic slave trade took place during the 18th century alone. The 18th century was also the “age of enlightenment” when people began to reject the authority and truth of the Bible. The stage was set for a rival ideology to take hold of the global consciousness. Come 1859, we saw the publication of Charles Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species – By Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.” Whilst Darwin himself may have been an abolitionist, again it is a fact of history that by the end of the American Civil War, his theories had laid the foundation for racial segregation and discrimination in America.
Today the whole world chants the mantra of “equality”. In the American declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson immortalised the words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
But Thomas Jefferson was wrong. These truths are not self-evident. The reason why people are chanting “Black Lives Matter” is because the world that they see with their own eyes tells them that all men are not created equal, for they are not all treated equally. They don’t have the same rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. However, people are outraged precisely because they do believe that all men have equal worth. If this truth is not self-evident, why do people believe it? Where does this belief come from?
Black lives matter because the Bible tells us they matter. Modern society believes all lives matter because modern society was built upon the bedrock of biblical revelation; biblical revelation that it now rejects on a large scale.
The world system, at large, promotes an ideology that fundamentally undermines the dignity of all human beings because it rejects Genesis 1:26. Man has no Creator. If he has no Creator, he was not created. If he was not created we cannot say that he is created equal.
If we are all the product of millions of years of blind, purposeless evolution; if we are nothing but masses of cells driven by chemical reactions, we have no unalienable right to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. What we perceive as “liberty” and “happiness” are chemical reactions, no more good or evil than the fizz in your Coca Cola versus the fizz in your baking soda & vinegar.
If we really want to claim that “Black Lives Matter” we must reject this worldview that defies biblical revelation. We must repent and turn back to the true fountain of knowledge, wisdom and understanding. We must understand that all human lives have value because we have all been made in the image of God.
