What does Jess Barlow, Volney Morgan & New Ye and Happi have in common?

iTunes. Jess Barlow just yesterday joined a number of Christian artists who have been able to mobilise support through online sales and claim the #1 spot on the iTunes Christian & Gospel Chart. In Jess’ case this was accomplished with her recent release ‘I Will Run’ co-written by Philippa Hanna. Jess commented online, “Wouldn’t have got to number 1 without the awesome Josh Cana for producing the track, Aron Bicskey for mixing vocals, my wonderful family for believing I could pursue my dreams, and friends like Kerry O’Toole and Danniela Hope who have picked me up every time I have been knocked back! And the amazing Kyle France for the EPIC artwork! And of course BIG BIG LOVE to the wonderful Philippa Hanna who helped write ‪#‎IWillRun‬ and taught me how to be light in a society filled with darkness! Couldn’t have done it without you girl!” Along with Jess Barlow, there have been other young emerging artist who have recorded top positions on the sales tracking iTunes platform, proving that a well needed increase from the Christian & Gospel music buying public is perhaps underway. Interestingly enough the issue has never been these sales spikes as much as the need for a more prolonged chart presence indicative of sustained sales. But that is a conversation for another time. Energetic Gospel group, Volney Morgan & New Ye soared to the #1 spot with the first single ‘After All’ off the upcoming live recorded album and Happi made waves on iTunes and Spotify with The Compilation EP, clinching a well deserved Track of The Week on Premier Gospel radio along the way. Support these amazingly talented young artists. As a matter of fact why not just buy all three!
