New UKCC submission ‘Little Man’ is a reflection on the blessing of becoming a Father and how the experience has reminded Speeks of the mind blowing love and care of his own heavenly Father.
Speeks is a rapper from Oldham, Greater Manchester. Born and raised in Newham, East London, Speeks has been heavily influenced by UK Rap and Grime, a sound born in his home borough. Artists like Kano, Ghetts and Dot Rotten have been big musical influences on him. Combining raw storytelling with his own reflective outlook, Speeks bears his heart on every track: “What you see is what you get, no strings attached.”
From a young age, Speeks has been writing his own lyrics and rapping on stages but years and experience have refined his craft and message. Despite his early love for music, and having recorded music for years, Speeks didn’t release his first single ‘2020 Vision’ until January of this year. The single was met with overwhelming positive feedback and added to Spotify playlists.
This is just the beginning for Speeks. Listeners can look forward to regular releases in the build up to his first project which is planned to be released in collaboration with producer Pulse Beats.
