New chart-topper on the Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart this week

There is a new chart-topper on the Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart this week, and this time, it is Chantelle Rutendo. Her new entry, THERE’S THIS KING THAT I KNOW, goes straight in at No.1, replacing VALLEY by Thiago and DC3, which now drops to No.3 after staying at the top for two weeks. KUMBAYA by JERUB remains at No.2, continuing its strong run near the summit. This week’s chart also comes with four new entries and two re-entries, adding even more movement across the list.

The chart, introduced by the Official Charts Company in collaboration with AStepFWD, tracks the most popular Christian and Gospel songs across the UK using official streaming and sales data.

The shift at the top is one of the biggest talking points this week. A new entry going straight to No.1 always says a lot, and Chantelle Rutendo does that in convincing fashion with THERE’S THIS KING THAT I KNOW, following in the footsteps of VALLEY by Thiago and DC3, which also debuted at No.1 two weeks ago. Just last week, I noted how Chantelle Rutendo had maintained two songs in the Top 10 since the inception of this chart, and now she has finally stepped into the top spot. It feels like it was only a matter of time.

There is also fresh movement across the rest of the Top 10. THE OLD RUGGED CROSS by SONDAE enters at No.4, while LOVE DON’T FADE by BCEE comes in at No.5, adding another new name to this week’s upper list. MY HEART YOUR HOME by Chantelle Rutendo drops from No.4 to No.6, while COLE PALMER by Limoblaze, DC3 and Andy Mineo also shifts down from No.3 to No.7. SON OF SUFFERING by Bethel Music and David Funk climbs into No.8, making it one of the more notable upward moves in the Top 10 this week.

Another significant point this week is Chantelle Rutendo’s continued double presence on the chart. Alongside her new No.1, MY HEART YOUR HOME remains in the Top 10, meaning she continues her run of having two songs in the Top 10 since the chart began. That consistency is becoming one of the clearest patterns on the chart.

There are also several new entries shaping the chart this week. Alongside THERE’S THIS KING THAT I KNOW by Chantelle Rutendo going straight to No.1, THE OLD RUGGED CROSS by SONDAE enters the chart, while LOVE DON’T FADE by BCEE also arrives as a fresh entry in the Top 10. Min. Adeoluwa also records a new entry with MY TESTIMONY (ROMANS 6:11), further strengthening his presence on the chart this week.

There are also re-entries making their way back onto the list. LOVE SONG by Warehouse Worship returns to the chart, while YAHWEH (GODIYA GAREKA) by Limoblaze, Kaestrings and Joe L also re-enters, adding to the wider movement across this week’s Top 20.

Looking across the Top 10 and the chart as a whole, there is still a clear blend of sounds, from contemporary worship and congregational music to Afro-influenced and modern gospel expressions. That diversity continues to shape the direction of the chart and reflects what listeners across the UK are engaging with.

Here are the Top 10 songs on the Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart for this week (10 April 2026 – 16 April 2026):

Looking at how the chart continues to evolve is something interesting to note and anticipate. Will THERE’S THIS KING THAT I KNOW remain at No.1 next week? And beyond that, will Chantelle Rutendo go on to break JERUB’s longest stay at No.1, or are we about to see yet another new chart-topper? It promises to be an interesting week ahead.
