The Girl Who Could Only Live Online

As reported in the Daily Mail this week, young Tallulah Wilson is yet another teenage tragedy, having committed suicide due to alleged bullying and personal circumstances including her grandmother’s death and parents divorce.

Turning to the internet for support, Tallulah would post images cutting herself on the multimedia blogging site ‘Tumblr’. The alter ego she had created behind a laptop screen had 18,000 people who loved her for who she was (online) and what she did.

How different would each of their lives be if they had turned to God in their time of hurt and sorrow. He said He ‘shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain’ Revelation 21:4.

We might not know whether someone is hurting as we judge on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. As good practice we should be praying for others on a daily basis and sharing words of encouragement. A simple uplifting message or verse could make a great difference to someone’s life.

What may seem minor to you could be the difference between life and death for another, a very strong thought to remember. Send an encouraging message, scripture or song to three people. You may be the reason they smile today!
