“THE EXPERIENCE” CELEBRATES 20TH YEAR WITH GLOBAL SOUNDTRACK OF UNITY IN CHRIST

The Experience Lagos marks its 20th year with a beautiful musical statement titled Jesus United, a sound that mirrors everything this yearly gathering has come to represent. For two decades, The Experience has remained one of the biggest worship concerts in Nigeria, drawing hundreds of thousands to Tafawa Balewa Square and hosting some of the most recognised voices in global gospel music. It is a concert that unites nations, generations and cultures under one name, the name of Jesus.

Over the years, The Experience has welcomed world-renowned ministers who carry diverse sounds and expressions of worship. It has become a bridge between continents, a moment where gospel artists from across the world converge in one place to lift the same name with one heart. Celebrating the 20th year of this movement is no small feat and the release of Jesus United captures that heart so well.

This anniversary track brings together several gospel artists from different countries. Representing the United Kingdom on the track is Muyiwa Olarewaju Riversongz, who delivers a strong spoken word moment. The mixing was handled by Jonny Bird, the winner of StepFWD Awards Producer of the Year at the recently concluded awards, giving the track a further UK imprint.

The song opens with the voice of the convener, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, setting the spiritual tone for what becomes a powerful declaration of unity in Christ. His opening is followed by the unmistakable voice of Sinach, singing, We stand as one in Christ the Lord, we lift a song to worship. Her entry prepares the atmosphere for Israel Houghton, who follows with the reminder, We all have come to worship you. Israel then deepens the message with another powerful line, As tribe and tongue from old to young we all have come to worship. It is a declaration that reflects exactly what The Experience has built for twenty years. One body. One sound. One Christ. Then followed by other anointed ministers featured on the track, each adding their unique grace to the sound of worship.

At the heart of the sound is a chorus that anchors the entire message. We sing Hallelujah to the ruler of the nation, we cry Holy Holy to the only name that saves. Hallelujah remains one of the few worship words that stands the same in every language. It needs no translation. It is a global sound of unity that ties this 20th year celebration together. Travis Greene’s distinct voice came into the sound carrying the chorus. His tone is unmistakable and you could easily spot his voice, adding a beautiful lift to the worship moment.

Muyiwa’s spoken word delivers a timely message. In a world so divided by politics, Jesus stands as the only thing that unites us. If you believe we are one in Him, shout Hallelujah. His words give the track depth and clarity, aligning fully with the theme of this 20th edition.

The track was produced by the sensational Frank Edwards, whose production brings a global feel and a polished worship atmosphere, tying all the voices together in a seamless expression of praise. It was then mastered by multi-GRAMMY award winner Drew Lavyne, adding a world-class finish that seals the excellence of this 20th anniversary sound.

As the song progresses, other artists take lead moments or ad-libs that further lift the sound. By closely listening, in no particular order, these voices include:

  • Moses Bliss
  • Emmanuel Benjamin (Eben)
  • Chevelle Franklyn
  • Bidemi Olaoba
  • Onos
  • Micah Stampley
  • Mercy Chinwo

Overall, the song carries voices from different continents lifting up the name of Jesus, a true expression of global worship united in one sound.

Jesus United’ is not just a song. It is a celebration of twenty years of unbroken worship, a prophetic call for unity and a reminder that the name of Jesus still brings nations together. As The Experience marks its 20th year, this track becomes both a reflection and a declaration of what the global Church stands for.
