Taste of Heaven: Uniting the UK Church Across Cultures

The Taste of Heaven Intercultural Worship Festival, taking place on 24th May 2025, will be a landmark event for the UK church, celebrating its unity and cultural diversity. Held in the historic Coventry Cathedral, a global symbol of reconciliation, the festival will bring together some of the UK’s leading Christian artists from diverse cultural backgrounds for an unforgettable day of intercultural worship.

The cathedral’s stunning grounds and ruins will also come alive with family-friendly activities, music and dance performances, and international street food, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere.

Why an Intercultural Worship Festival?
As the UK church becomes increasingly diverse, this festival will model and promote intercultural worship and ministry—a vital step toward refl ecting the multi-ethnic unity of heaven, here on earth. Whilst embracing many diff erent cultural expressions can be challenging, this event will off er a practical demonstration of how it can be done eff ectively, unlocking the strengths and gifts of various ethnic groups within our church communities.

The festival also aligns with recent calls for change in UK churches. In February, Lord Boateng presented the Archbishops’ Commission for Racial Justice report, which highlighted the urgent need for worship that truly reflects the diversity of the Church of England. The festival will offer a vision of what inclusive and representative worship can look like.

With an anticipated attendance of 1,000 people, the Taste of Heaven Intercultural Worship Festival is already sparking interest for future replication across the UK. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a historic moment for the church.
