Special day of prayer for global revival to take place at Wembley Arena

On January 7th 2023, a gathering uniting Christians from across the nation to pray for revival is set to take place at Wembley Arena. “The Cry” hosted by Reverend Dr Betty King, will bring together a range of influential voices from across the Body of Christ to lead thousands of people in a day of prayer, intercession and worship, in order to trigger revival across the nations.

Confirmed speakers include Pastor Agu Irukwu (Jesus House), Paul Manwaring, Tiffany Buhler (David’s Tent), Bishop John Francis (Ruach Ministries) with many more names to be unveiled. The event has two main focuses – empowering young people and refreshing the Body of Christ. For the younger generation, the event will tackle a range of issues including mental health, addiction, sexual impurity and lack of identity with the hope of bringing wholeness and healing to this generation.

The gathering also aims to strengthen those who are tired and discouraged – empowering the Body of Christ in general. Dr Betty King, the event host & founder, said: ‘In a time of uncertainty, the Church needs to rise up and meet the needs of the people. The Cry is a call to repentance and awakening.’ Dr Betty King continues: ‘We believe this is a Kairos moment. We are running on God’s calendar and this is a divine appointment. January 7th is significant according to the Jewish Calendar. This is when Queen Esther came into power to save a nation. Likewise, we are believing for people to come into the fullness of their identity in Christ and move in power and authority to bring a major harvest of souls.’

A call to unity is also at the heart of “The Cry” with the event focused on uniting the Church across
denominations, ethnicities, culture and the generations. This will also be reflected in the range of
contributors featuring throughout the day including upcoming ‘Next Generation’ youth leaders such
as Nia-Cerise Conteh and Tyrone Junior.

At a recent leaders’ planning meeting for the event, one leader said: ‘In the spiritual realms, there is a sacred synergy and a Holy collaboration about to happen. We are mending the nets and joining the boats.’ People are registering to attend from around the world including Russia, Norway, Ghana, Brazil, USA and Singapore to name a few.

Rev Betty King said: ‘It has been astonishing to see the numbers of people who are coming from
Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. It’s as though parts of the Commonwealth are returning to hold
the hand of Great Britain in this time of change.’

The Biblical inspiration for “The Cry” is based on several key scriptures mainly Song of Solomon Chapter
4: 1-4 and Psalm 24. Rev King said: ‘The Cry’ is an ascent. This is about the Church going to the next level, arising to take its position in the world beyond the limitations and intimidation. We are inviting people to come and be a part of this day, of this movement.’

A series of “The Cry” gatherings will happen across the nation and internationally over the next year in
the body of Christ. Get your tickets for January 7th at OVO Wembley Arena.
