Naba Collective solo artiste Shanique Watts is set to release her debut single ‘Summa Time’ this July. The former AIU (musical band) frontwoman is looking for a July 17 release with a decidedly different vibe than expected from her fans.
Watts, one of two artists signed to the revamped (formerly Naba Music) Christian label based in Jamaica, pens a mature, energy-filled effort for her debut release. ‘Summa Time’ features the label’s other artiste “The Good Stewart” and was produced by Watts and Otienno Coleman. Mixed and mastered by The Covenant Entertainment’s head honcho Geoff Clarke, the song feels fun and invites you to move your feet.
“This song is straight vibes from beginning to end. It truly gives you a summer vibe” says OBOG dance company director Judene Edwards. The choreographer continued, “It [also] points to the reason for us being able to have this vibe, that righteousness a wi energy”.
