Rebecca Raw‘s second EP “Feet Firmer” delivers the same personal touch that characterised her debut record Deep Within. “Feet Firmer” is both intimate and universal, lush and refined, confronting and comforting.

The songs on “Feet Firmer” were all written at moments in her life when Rebecca stopped to reflect. She says, “With this record, I wasn’t interested in shying away from expressing discomfort – I wanted to acknowledge, convey, and even honour it; but I also wanted it to coexist with equally authentic expressions of hope, which I believe prevails in every moment of darkness.”

The project showcases Rebecca’s authenticity and boldness and her warm vocals are smooth, rich, and deeply human. It opens with a timely and invigorating alt-pop track – ‘Unshakeable‘ – which is followed by a blissful and confronting piano/strings soul ballad – ‘Mercy‘. The EP then dives deeper with a hauntingly uncomfortable moment of self-reflection – ‘Poison‘ – before lifting with another, pop-style number – ‘Fire Burns Wild‘. The EP rounds off with a wistful and mesmerising a cappella number – ‘Imaginings‘ – followed by a stripped-back cello trio version of the aforementioned – ‘Unshakeable‘.

This follow-up EP gives fans another dose of the ingredients that seem to be at the core of Rebecca Raw’s art; honesty, humanity, hope, harmony, oh and the cello… lots of it! What’s not to love?!
