The Nigerian born / British based rapper is considered to be one of the pioneers of Christian Hip-Hop/ Grime in the UK having been delivering heartfelt rhymes and culturally relevant life music for close to 20 years. An illustrious career which has already brought him a MOBO Award, a Premier Gospel Award, numerous other nominations and tens of thousands of streams online. Over his career, Triple has taken the time to steadily build his reputation and his artistry to slowly become one of the brightest and most influential artists of his era. Having shared stages and toured with some of the biggest gospel artists from around the world, the music Triple makes takes pride in having both a wide reach and a strong cultural impact. His 3rd studio album ‘Everything Left Unsaid’ follows on from a number of high-profile EP and mixtape releases – and is cited by many to be a modern-day classic. Boasting of sounds ranging from drill infused Jazz, to more modern sounding grime anthems – this body of work sets a precedence for UK rap music on a global scale.
StepFWD Awards is inspired by Romans 12:10: “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.” The main focus is just that – showing honour to those blessing us with their musical giftings – without leaving anyone out. Expect to see new and current artists celebrated alongside those who have contributed for decades oftentimes never receiving the recognition deserved. Their combined efforts have created the diverse and lively faith-inspired music scene we have in the UK today – Song of The Year nominees alone span twelve categories across numerous genres!
