Muyiwa and Lady T kick off Premier Gospel’s ice-bucket challenge

ice bucket challenge

Premier Gospel station director Muyiwa kicked off the Premier Gospel ice-bucket challenge in support of the MNDA organisation who work to tackle Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Muyiwa chose to nominate fellow presenter Lady T, Premier CEO Peter Kerridge, and Reverend Yemi Adejedi from the Evangelical Alliance. They had 24 hours to do their own ice-bucket challenge!

MND is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.

MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order.

The ice-bucket challenge is currently raising great awareness of the disease worldwide as the ice – in addition to the cold temperature of the water – temporarily shocks our nerves, thus giving us a small insight into what it may be like to live with the disease.

Oh did someone nominate Guvna B? Would be great to see some UK artists & musicians involved!
