The response to the upcoming Step FWD Awards has been remarkable and with Early Bird tickets already Sold Out, the momentum is certainly building. The ‘Dove meets Stellar’ event will be held on 27th November and will honour 40+ years of legacy whilst celebrating the ‘best of British’ talent from the last 12 months.
Performers will be announced later this week, and it’s now been revealed that MOBO and multi-award-winning rapper Faith Child and actress Jennifer Lee Moon will host the definitive Christian and Gospel music awards.
The top 5 nominees in each of the UK Christian Charts Song of the Year categories will also be announced from Wednesday 27th October. This comes after thousands of votes were registered, with people flocking to the awards website to name their Song of the Year! All 150+ Judges also got the chance to have their final say, in which of the 131 No.1 tracks will earn the 12 Song of the Year titles. Other music awards finalists such as Duo/Group, New Artist, Male and Female, Producer and Video of the Year will be announced soon.
A big highlight of the Step FWD Awards will be the honouring of many individuals, who across decades have paved the way for the current generation and on whose shoulders the Christian music industry stands. A few Outstanding Contribution recipients are being announced ahead of the event, starting with Howard Francis. Lifetime Achievement and Legacy Awards will be a substantial aspect of the night as well.
